This is my personal effort to provide a quick reference for the most important local election, the Wilmette Park Board of Commissioners. Early voting is easy and fast. Avoid the lines and vote early at Centennial now through March 31st. Voters will choose three out of six candidates. Endorsement Over the past two years, I have attended more Park Board meetings than anyone in Wilmette, missing only two. Based on firsthand observation, the key issues at stake, and my experience, I am voting for the following three candidates in ballot order: I am endorsing three candidates with distinct perspectives and independent viewpoints. Patrick Duffy, Allison Frazier, and Kara Kosloskus bring leadership and experience that set them apart from the rest of the field. Additionally, Allison Frazier and Kara Kosloskus are the only parents of school-aged children running. That perspective matters for the Park District. Over the past two years, I have watched these three challenge each other, collaborate, and find thoughtful, civil consensus. That is the kind of leadership Wilmette needs. Wilmette deserves leaders who consider the full scope of the Park District’s responsibilities and not just a single issue. Our parks, programs, and facilities serve everyone in our community. Vote to re-elect Duffy, Frazier, and Kosloskus on April 1st. Local Elections Matter Early voting is underway at Centennial. You can vote now through March 31st, 9 am to 5 pm and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sundays. This election will likely be decided by only 1,600 of Wilmette’s 27,000 residents. Make sure your voice is heard.
